About

Most people know a fraction of the city they live in. The same six streets, the same three parks, and a vague sense that there is more somewhere. Explorestraya is a game about the rest of it.

Every place is checked by a person

The catalogue is not a scrape. Each place is looked at, given a reason to visit, and filed with the details that decide whether today is the day — whether it is free, whether a dog can come, whether it only works in daylight.

Being there is the whole point

A check-in needs a live photo and continuous GPS, because a game about walking somewhere is worthless if you can win it from the couch. The checks are strict on purpose and they are the same for everybody.

Your data

Location is read while you are checking in, and not otherwise. Photos stay on your phone until they pass verification. You can download everything the app holds about you, and delete the account outright — both from inside the app, no email required. See the privacy policy.
