Questions

Is Explorestraya free?

Yes. There is no paid tier and there are no ads.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Your passport, XP and badges follow the account across devices, and everything the app does hangs off one.

How does it know I was really there?

A photo taken inside the app at the place, plus a few seconds of continuous GPS while you hold still. Library photos and spoofed locations do not pass.

Which cities does it cover?

Places are live across Australia, with the deepest coverage in Melbourne. New suburbs are added as they are checked.

What happens to my photos?

They stay on your phone until they pass verification, and they are only ever used to verify the visit — unless you choose to add one to a place\u2019s public wall, which a moderator checks first.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, from inside the app. It is suspended immediately and purged after a grace period, and you can stop it during that window.
